Subway Surfers World Tour: Tokyo 2021 is the one hundred thirtieth edition of the Subway Surfers World Tour series and also the one hundred and thirty-ninth edition of Subway Surfers.
This edition has a new limited character named Akira, which costs 
25,000. There is also the return of the limited character named Bonnie, which costs 15,000. There is also a new hoverboard, called Sakura, which costs 15,000. There is also the return of two hoverboards, one called Cherry, as a Season Hunt prize. And another one called Medal, which costs 
60.
This edition also introduced a new outfit for Bonnie called the Harajuku Outfit costing 22,000 .
The Season Hunt items in this edition are Japanese Keychains ().
The update was released on July 19, 2021.

- In the 2.20.1 update changes the beautiful rainbow background of the mystery boxes, super mystery boxes, token boxes, mini mystery boxes, hoverboard unlock screen, character unlock screen, season hunt reward unlock screen, key bags, and etc. The box screens and bag screens are just mostly plain blue with a shine on the background. The unlock screens have been changed to purple.
- The reflections in the game have been turned to a more simple image that is used on almost every reflections. The top of the trains reflections have nearly gone invisible. The most visible train top reflection is in .
