Subway Surfers City

Subway Surfers City is an upcoming game made by SYBO Games. In some countries, it was soft launched on July 11th, 2024. It is expected to be released globally later.

In the game, the classic Subway Surfers characters receive new updated designs, and there are many, Billy (Different from the Surfer (Billy Bean) in the original game),

Jay (different from the surfer Jay in the original game), as well Rosalita and many more to come.

Gameplay[]

The game plays just like the original Subway Surfers, but with different graphics and art styles, more obstacles, and gameplay mechanics. Unlike the original game, you now have to collect board energy to get a hoverboard, which fills up a meter as you collect more. You can upgrade characters and level up. Upgrading characters costs coins and unlocks more perks/abilities they can use and increase their score multiplier and also gives XP. You can gain XP by playing the game or upgrading your boards or characters. You gain different rewards for each level you progress, and completing season missions which also give you rewards.

There are more kinds of obstacles and they vary depending on the level, such as in The Docks where there are cargo crates that fall from the ceiling and you have to react quickly to not crash into them, bubbles in DeLorean Park where they give you sort of a double jump and 10 points, drones in Sunrise Boulevard that take you high up in the air. There are new objects such as air vents and bouncy trains that allow you to get to high places, explore areas and get power ups you normally can't reach. There are new power ups, the bouncy shields the are essentially super sneakers but you have to pound on the ground once, the battery which extends your time on the hoverboard.

Rewards[]

You can open Super Boxes with 50 keys which is the only current use for keys, these boxes give you Surfer Tokens, Board Tokens, Keys and coins. There are daily deals which you use coins you obtained and purchase Surfer Tokens. There is also a daily Ad Box which give you less amount of rewards than the Super Box and also the Bonus Ad Box which requires watching 10 ads anywhere in the game.

Trials[]

Trials are adrenaline-pumping unique short runs that require your best performance to get the best rewards.

You can unlock and upgrade characters to score more in trials, you've 3 tries with 3 different surfers and you can get one more try with each character by watching an ad.

The more you score the more rewards you get, for example; Surfer Token boxes, Board Token boxes and Keys.

Subway Surfers City were originally called Hoverboard Heroes and it's published by SYBO, but in 2024, Sybo Games renamed it as Subway Surfers City.

Secret Stars[]

Main Article: Secret Stars

This game has a new feature that substitutes score boosters for secret stars. Each secret star increases the multiplier by 1x and you can collect a maximum of 3 (on very rare occasions 4) stars per run. Currently, there are at least 27 secret stars available to collect with each one being in a specific location with more being added.
