Subway Surfers: Classic 2024, also known as Subway Classic, is the 187th installment of the game. This update brings back the classic map from the first versions of the game. It releases 4 new surfers: Hammy-Bee, Pixel Jake, Ballerina Tricky and Guard King and 5 new boards: Mayo Mania, Pixel Hoverboard, Street Grace, Alarm On and 12th Birthday.

The Marathon Challenge takes place in , the Tag Time Attack takes place in , the Mystery Hurdles takes place in , the Season Challenge takes place in , the One Run Challenge take place in , the Plant Invasion: No Floor Challenge take place in , and the No Floor Challenge takes place in .

The Season Hunt token are Cap ().

This update also features a new variation of King (Guard King) as well as 7th variation of Jake (Pixel Jake; after Zombie, Festive, Pride, Super Runner, Elf and Outatime) and 5th variation of Tricky (Ballerina Tricky; after Elf, Festive, Pride and Super Runner).
This update released the most amount of new characters in 2024 with 4 new surfers released, surpassing and .
This is the second 2024 update to not feature a new outfit after .
This is the latest edition to not introduce a new outfit.
In the trailer, there is a bubblegum advertisement, which was later used as a power-up in Subway Surfers City.
Before , this was the last edition to feature the original Marathon Challenge, which was replaced with Classic Mode, which features the original four core crew.
This update added a new feature: the Player Profile. This feature allows players to put a photo of their favorite surfer and a frame on the photo.
This is the first birthday update since to not take place in .
This is the first edition since to not have the trailer format.
This is the first legacy return in 2024.

For unknown reasons, Boombastic and Zuper Zapper were the only Super Runner Boards to not return in this season, even though all of the Super Runners came back during this season.
It was revealed that this update would launch the character Dinorange but it has not been added so far, it is not known at the moment whether he will be launched in this update even though he is described as "Subway Classic Surfer", he doesn't even appear in the trailer, the reason of this is unknown. There is no official statement from SYBO regarding the release of this character, which is proven something went wrong with the company. The same situation happened with Mala which would be launched in and it was only launched later in .
This edition sees the return of the Super Runners and Rivals, first released in and .
This is the first edition where there's no limited characters in Wordy Weekend.
The 8-bit Subway Surfers remix was the default soundtrack for this edition when it originally got released. However in V3.29.1, it was changed to the classic Subway Surfers theme. The classic Subway Surfers theme was also moved up to the top of the boombox music list.
- Classic (V3.29.1) is the first update since to not have remixed background music by default.
The thumbnail for the trailer on YouTube and it's promo image uses the pre graphics versions of the three Core Crew characters on it.
Birthday Bonanza Bundles are the exact same promos as Black Friday Bonanza Bundles from .
- Only the Black Friday Bonanza #3 didn't return ().
People thought that was the 4th release of but it is actually as and are confirmed to be 2 different maps of each other.
The shore and beach added in Halloween and Holiday didn't return, even though it's the same city as , so it should have appeared.
It has the most bonus soundtracks of any update ever, with 10 tracks (not counting Main Theme and Game Intro, which is just the main theme with an added intro), only 8-Bit theme was added to the boombox however.

- It's also the first update to have joke soundtracks (Gaurd and Dog Remix)
