Mystery Hurdles

Mystery Hurdles is a limited game mode of Subway Surfers located in the Events tab released for some users on January 16/17 with version 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 and then globally on January 24th 2023 in version 3.6.3 of the game. You can do the run in other cities randomly selected, during the Mystery Hurdles, the chosen city is available for the challenges and for the race normally, after completing the challenges you return to the World Tour City to collect the prizes and the Mystery Hurdle City is available to travel for regular races.

Trivia[]

Mystery Hurdles was released along with Mystery Barriers.
SYBO accidentally overlooked the Coin Cautious achievement, so when you play this challenge, you will most likely complete that achievement. (Given that there is no coins in this challenge and only score)
This is the first new challenge/game mode of 2023, and the second being Hoverboard Challenge.
This is the first time a game mode with a new highscore mechanism was released.
- But later was removed in 3.8.2 (), added again in 3.12.1 and now works properly, it stores a score now rather than resetting it.
In mid-update (3.18.1), a new power-up similar to the 2X Multiplier was added. But instead of being temporary, it is permanent and doubles your original score during that run when it is used. It can be unlocked by reaching the last milestone in the Mystery Hurdles event and you also unlock Ranked Rewards, which was also released in . It is similar to the Daily High Score Ranked Rewards, but instead of 5,000 , you can earn if you get the top 10% or the top 1% score.
Also starting from mid-update (3.18.1), the game music speeds up with each increasing difficulty.
Some Daily and Seasonal Quests (Including Stumble into 4 Bushes in one run and Stumble into 80 Barriers total) becomes easier due to bushes becoming more common and score requiring Dodge x Amount of Barriers.
