The edition of template is source mode only. This requires an advanced knowledge of the wiki markup language. Missedit on those could cause a crash in all the characters pages, as you already did in the past. That's the reason I locked this template and I recommend it stays locked.
What are your ideas for improve the CharacterBoxOutfits template? If relevant, I can edit it for you.
JPatchZ had recently suggested a few ideas on improving the wiki, but to do so he would need the Content Moderator role and another role which I'm still not sure of yet.
For now, I think we can ignore the old process of slowly gaining the roles for this case due to his massive contributions in this short period of time and give him the Content Moderator role. What do you think?
Hi! During the last two weeks I was updating a bunch of sttufs on the wiki, mainly related with visual issue like templates and infobox pictures. I uploaded almost every character and hoverboard pictures with transparency background, created icons for all the tokens and possible prizes, standardized dates and reformulated the categorization system. Now I'm finishing taking print screens from old versions apk of the previous Weekly Hunt Token to edit thoose pictures removing the background, making it clean and ellegant. Also, together with Dark, we created a table that is already on the main page to show the predictions of characters to be on the next weekend of the Wordy Hunt. We hope this makes users come back to the site every week so they can know what characters will show up in advance.
During the visual changes, I used two patterns of blue alongside white to create a more sober and less agressive vibe for the pages. So, if you look at one of the characters or hoverboards pages like this and approves the new fresh air, I would like to work on updating all the wiki to that same scheme, including main page, navigation bar and sttufs. If you're not too attached to the old colors that have been around here since ever and agree that changes could be a good and necessary thing, could you avaliate my application for this project? I already spoke with Dark and he asked I talked to you.
I've looked at the Miami hoverboard page and must say, I'm quite impressed. I also like the new character prediction thing on the main page. I would give you approval straight away but first, I want to see the difference between the new format and former format, so that I can see if a wide scale update is necessary. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sure. There is any sandbox I could work so I could make the changes withouth disturbind the actual website? I'm not quite sure how this things work, actually. I would need to see the code to understand it first. Maybe save all the codes on notepad before? If there is no pratical way to backup, I could try to do a visual sample (just a imagem) representing how the site would be after the changes.
(actually, the upper navbar is pretty broken, with many nroken links)
What I plan to do would be something [like this]. I'm not sure how customizable the wiki is, but after I analyze the code we could debate more about changes to turn this wiki responsible (to work well on cellphone too), as at this moment some pages doesn't load properly on mobile.
Within the images I linked to you, I didn't write too much on the boards because it would give me a lot for unnecessary work, but try to imagine all the boards filled up with text. If you think it would still is be too white, we could introduce a light pattern of grey on the boards background. The ideia is not overload too much with vibrante colors so it doesn't attack the eyes.
On the main menu, you will notice some changes on the tabs. It's another project idealized by me and being conduced Dark. It's on debate with the community at this thread. The idea is to reformulate the main navigation and link it with the navigation by categories system I already impemented as you can see here.
I'm really sorry for the late reply, I didn't go onto my email for a few days so I forgot about this thread. So if I'm correct, the only thing you'll be changing is the colour scheme of the front page (i.e from green to white)?
As for the new tab idea, I'm all for it, though we should discuss about it first. Personally, I don't think a tips and tricks tab is neccessary, but I can always have my mind changed.
The color scheme of the front page and of the navigation bar, that is showed on every page. To maintain consistency, buttons and dialogs backgrounds and any other thing that is current green should change as well. I'm not 100% sure about all the things that can be costumized, but my recommendation is only to change colors, not the format itself. Once I done all the changes, I can do a report listing all the things that have changed so you can inspect them all for approval.
The ideia for "Tips & Trick" is to have a space to attractk guests and new players. Without it, the bar would be very short as well. But I actually don't like the name and would be happy if someone shows up with something better.
Under this category should be Time Travel, Glitches, Cheats and things like that.
Can you infinitely block this user: JPatchZ. He keeps undoing my edits and messing up the wiki. He also keeps undoing my edits on the CharacterBoxOutfits template. If I undo it, he will revert it back to the new version. Could you also protect this template, revert it to the old version and promote me please?
I just earned the Travelin' the Galaxy badge on this wiki today!
1) Can you add the following to the main page:
Feb 12 - DrEggman1026 just earned the Travelin' the Galaxy badge on this wiki! Congratulations to him!
2) Could you unlock the following template: Template:BoardBox
Hi! I'm updating the pictures for the characters and hoverboards, making sure it all get padronized and clean. It's gving me a lot of work, but I love doing this kind of thing. I actually finished almost all the characters, and went to the hoverboards. While editing them, I felt the need to put the "Edition" and "Release Date" info on the Board's Boxes the same way there is on the Character's Boxes. I think it's very handfull to have this information easly to found. The problem is the Template for BoardBox is protected to prevent editing. If you think it's a good idea, could you edit the template for me? I'll them include the info on the hoverboard's pages. This is the link for it: https://subwaysurf.fandom.com/wiki/Template:BoardBox
Well, the edition kind off tells if the character is limited or no with even more info (the edition itself). Though It doesn't work for Dino and Boombot. We can add both fields, anyway. I don't mind filling up them.
Unfortunately Eggman, it's not that simple. I have to talk and discuss with Dark on whenever you've satisified the requirements to become promoted. I understand it might be a bit frustrating for you, especially after all of the work you've put in everyday, but it's what we have to do.
Perhaps message Dark on his wall and ask and see what his opinion is.
Hi! I recently got into wanting to edit pages (so far just focusing on making things uniform and making the wiki I like going to so much look even more organized and professional!) and I was wondering if there was a specific date format that you all wanted to follow for your articles? For instance, the release dates for the different updates vary wildly in date formats from article to article, but a slight majority of them seem to have the common Middle-endian format: the American Psychological Association (APA) standard of Month Date (number only), Year (e.g. October 14, 2018). It seems like the APA format is favored on this site, but I just want to confirm before trying to edit a bunch of pages and changing the written date format.
If you're not the right person to ask, I'd really appreciate it if you could direct me to the correct person so I can make things as easy for you all as possible :)
The admins can decide on what they want, but if I can put in my two cents about why I prefer APA! The majority of the scientific community uses the APA date format (which would do 31 instead of 31st) for various reasons. It cuts back on redundancy for the purpose of conciseness, which is a good way to make your writing more accessible to the general population. English speakers already know to read the date as "thirty-first" whether the suffix is there or not, so excluding the suffix facilitates ease of reading, and also makes the English passages less confusing for those who do not have as much strength in the language. I also personally prefer how APA dates look compared to other formats, but my personal opinion shouldn't be what determines how an entire Wiki should present their information... I just want to indicate that I might be a bit biased because of my personal preference
I've actually just realized that both of them are actually different time formats. XD
None of us has ever clarified on which data format to use since the beginning, we just went with what the first pages ever used, so I think it's best if we just go with the format which more pages currently have.
Also, I'm really sorry if I started a whole ordeal with this, just walking into your wiki and stirring up a ruckus... I just wanted to find some way that I could use my strengths (a really good grasp of the English language and impeccable attention to detail!) to help with the site. Just let me know what I can do to assist!
Don't be sorry! We really appreciate your help to the site. It's just that the issue was never mentioned before by anyone so we are a bit surprised about it. Feel free to voice out any issues you find on the site. :)
You can post images as long as it's relevant, so no worries! :D
I'm sorry, young man. But didn't anyone teach you not to shout at others rudely?
If you really want others to do what you want them to do, you have to fix that attitude of yours. If I do get a job and get a boss who shouts all the time to his workers, I would rather smash that resignation letter into his face, you know what I mean?
